The LGBTQ+ Movement Is Broken — Here's How We Might Fix It

LGBTQ+ activist and QWELL Community Foundation founder argues the queer movement has relied too heavily on electoral politics and fragmented nonprofits, and proposes a coordinated infrastructure built around a "Virtual LGBTQIA+ Community Center App" launching in 2027. The app would use a private directory to direct LGBTQIA+ consumers and allies to queer-friendly businesses, citing $1.7 trillion in queer buying power and 192 million Americans who support LGBTQIA+ nondiscrimination.

Why Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare Stays With Me

Rachel Talalay's Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, the only Nightmare on Elm Street film directed by a woman, doubles down on the franchise's themes of parental abuse and neglect. The film opens in a Springwood with no children left, following the last teen, John Doe, and Dr. Maggie Burroughs back to the town. Its "troubled youth" — Spencer, Carlos and Tracy — are shaped by their parents' abuse, not their own choices.

Review: Tsukiatte Agetemo Ii Kana live-action drama, Episodes 1-3

Matt Marcus reviews the first three episodes of the Tsukiatte Agetemo Ii Kana live-action drama, an 8-episode, 23-minute adaptation of Tamifull's manga about two college students in a light music club. He credits episode 1 with making Saeko and Miwa's awkwardness palpable, but says episode 3's summer club retreat arc cuts the character Kan entirely, reducing Miwa to an object of Saeko's jealousy, and that sex remains off screen. The series airs in Japan on MBS, TV Kanagawa, Chiba TV, TeleTama, Tochigi TV and Gunma Television, streams via TVer and FOD, and is available overseas on GagaOoLaLa.

Fear the Merger: One Network to Bind Them Into Darkness

Paramount won the bid to buy Warner Bros. Discovery in February, and Netflix walked away from the deal on 26 February, as LezWatch.TV warns the consolidation is bad for queer TV in the US. The piece argues that shareholder-driven conglomerates favor risk-averse reboots, sequels and procedurals, homogenize editorial voices across networks, and purge diverse shows for tax write-offs. It cites a wave of revivals including Scrubs Season 10, the Frasier revival, a Young Sheldon spinoff renewed for season 3, and Buffy: New Sunnydale.
