The Archers airs its first lesbian wedding in 75-year history

BBC Radio 4's The Archers aired its first lesbian wedding in the drama's 75-year history, with Pip Archer and Stella Pryor marrying in Sunday's episode during a storm. The episode ended on a cliffhanger as a tree apparently fell on hairdressing student Chelsea Horrobin, with listeners told to wait until 7pm on Monday for what happens next. The wedding comes two decades after the show's first gay ceremony, when Adam Macy and Ian Craig entered into a civil partnership in 2006.
