Sophie Cunningham Says Her Value Is 'Not Always in the Stat Sheet' After The Athletic Called for the Fever to Part Ways With Her

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham said on her podcast No Hesitation that her value is "not always in the stat sheet," responding to an early October The Athletic article arguing the Fever should part ways with her. Cunningham, who has opposed trans athletes in sports, also commented "Good work girls" on an October 14 Instagram post by XX-XY Athletics showing a Washington State high school cross-country protest against a trans athlete. Her 2026 season average matches her career average of just under 8 points per game, per the WNBA.
