Opinion: JD Vance Says Trump Deserves to Grift More Money and Trans Kids Deserve Less Humanity

In an opinion piece, The Advocate criticizes JD Vance for defending the Trump family's business deals and book contracts as the family simply being entitled to "earn a living," despite two Trump companies' 2022 convictions for crimes including criminal tax fraud. It also condemns Vance, head of the White House Anti-Fraud Task Force, for mocking Democratic U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico over saying he "loved trans children" at a Tyler, Texas rally during his 2026 midterm campaign swing, and for urging the Justice Department to investigate hospitals over gender-affirming care billing.
