JK Rowling calls trans activism 'elitist' in new essay and says her gender views 'haven't changed'

JK Rowling published a new essay on her website on Wednesday, described as a follow-up to her June 2020 essay, saying her views on sex and gender haven't changed and calling twenty-first century trans activism 'elitist to its core'. She wrote that she has received 'an avalanche of death, rape and torture threats' over her stance, said vulnerable trans people exist and should not face discrimination in housing or employment, and argued women and girls want single-sex facilities for safeguarding reasons.
