Marvel Studios reportedly picks Iceman as first gay X-Men hero for reboot movie

Marvel Studios is reportedly bringing Bobby Drake, aka Iceman, into its untitled X-Men reboot as the MCU's first gay X-Men hero on screen, a claim attributed to industry insider Alex Perez and backed by scooper Daniel Richtman. Reports suggest the film is due on 5 May 2028, with Jake Schreier directing and Michael Lesslie writing. Marvel canon established Bobby Drake as gay in 2015, with the adult character coming out in Uncanny X-Men #600.
