'La Bola Negra' breakout Guitarricadelafuente on Penélope Cruz and playing a queer soldier

In an interview with Out, Spanish singer-songwriter Guitarricadelafuente discusses his acting debut as Sebastián in La Bola Negra, the Spanish queer war epic directed by Los Javis, who won Best Director at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. He says he was unsure about the transition from music, that Los Javis cast him partly from his music videos, and that Penélope Cruz, who plays the singer Nené Romero, felt like a mother figure to him on set.
