Out Newsletter 10/16/26: Los Javis' 'La Bola Negra' Arrives with Guitarricadelafuente and Penélope Cruz
Los Javis' Spanish queer war epic 'La Bola Negra' has arrived, with Guitarricadelafuente making his acting debut as a young trumpeter swept into the Spanish Civil War and Penélope Cruz playing the woman who opens his eyes to a world beyond his own. Speaking to Out, Guitarricadelafuente discussed the film's mission to reclaim overlooked queer histories, what drew him to acting, how his music shaped his performance, and why Cruz is "a total mother."
